Dharan is a beautiful city located near the southeastern border of India. It is a gateway to the Mahabharat hills and is one of the biggest pilgrimage sites in Nepal. Places to visit in Dharan:

  • Pindeswori Temple: It is one of the most visited temples here in Dharan, Nepal. People visit the temple to worship Lord Shiva. During the month of Shrawan, you can see people from different places pay homage to Lord Shiva barefoot with holy water. The temple is considered the memory of ancestors, also called Shiveswor, Bholbaba.
  • Bidha Stupe Temple: It is another popular temple in the eastern region of Nepal. It is situated on the Vijayapur hill in Dharan. It is a religious place for devotees as well as new couples, and lovers. In these places, it is believed that if a couple writes their names on the bamboo poles here, they will stay together forever.
  • Dantakali Temple: This temple is located in the middle of the gorgeous hill, of Vijayapur. Dantakali Temple is also called the name, Tooth of the Goddess. It is believed that Sati Devi’s teeth feel here where the temple stands today. Moreover, the temple holds great importance for Hindus.
  • Shiva Jhatta: It is one of the most renowned places located on the east-north side of Dharan. It’s a place of the God Shiva mostly known for the waterfall. It is believed that the waterfall originated from the hair of Lord Shiva. You can see some of the beautiful carving artworks in the temple.
  • Panchakanya Temple: It is one of the best places to visit at the top of beautiful Viaypur Hill, a forested area.
  • Hariyali Community Park: It is one of the most beautiful parks in Dharan City, also a renowned picnic destination.
  • Yalambar Community Park: It is another peaceful park surrounded by the largest jungle. This place is also renowned as a picnic spot where you can see various types of animals and birds including deer, peacocks, etc.
