An itinerary for Namche Bazaar Trek starts with a flight to Hillary’s tiny airport Lukla and ends after a night in Phagding or Manjo. The Namche Bazaar in the Everest region of Nepal is one of the most amazing Sherpa settlements in the world. Day 01: Flight to Lukla early in the morning (2827 meters. 35 minutes) and trek to Phakding (2640 meters.3 hours walking) stay overnight at Lodge.

Day 02: Trek to Namche Bazaar (3440 meters. 6/7 hours walking) stay overnight at Lodge.

Day 03: Explore Everest View Hotel to see Mount Everest and visit Khumjung Sherpa Village

Day 04: Trek back to Lukla

Day 05: Return to Kathmandu

Day 01: Kathmandu Arrival

After your arrival at Kathmandu Tribhuvan International Airport, our team members will pick you up and transfer you to the hotel safely. After check-in, rest for a while or explore the city on your own. You can either visit the world heritage site or Kathmandu Durbar Square. You can explore the narrow alleyways sprouting with temples, local pubs, and the Shah dynasty Palace, which is now a museum. In the evening you will enjoy the welcoe dinner in a Nepalese restaurant and have a taste of Nepalese food arranged by our team. You will spend your first night in Kathmandu.

Day 02: Transfer to Lukla (flight) and trek to Phakding (2610m/8561ft)

You will start your day enjoying a delicious breakfast early in the morning. Today, you will take a flight to Lukla in the Khumbu region. After landing at Tenzing Hillary Airport, you will start a short trek towards Phakding Village. On your way, you will pass through Chaurikhara village and head alongside the Dudh Koshi River. After working for a while you will come across the climbed sacred peak named Khumbila, worshipped by the Sherpa community. After a few steps along the stone paved road, we will finally reach our final destination for today, Phakding village. You will spend your cosy night here at a teahouse.

Day 03: Trek to Namche Bazaar from Phakding

Today you will trek high to Namche Bazaar, the highlight of this trek. Your initial walk leads you to a steady and steep inclination. Crossing the Dudh Koshi river, and passing through a suspension bridge takes us to a beautiful Monjo village. After a little walk from the Monjo village, we cross the Hilary Suspension Bridge to the Monjo checkpoint, the gate to Sagarmatha National Park. All the necessary documents you will need here will be carried by your guide. Walking ahead you will witness the stunning views of Mt. Everest. You’ll now head to Jorsale with a newly lit enthusiasm and take a break for lunch. On your way ahead, you will see places with pine trees, and beautiful flora everywhere.

After a short break for lunch, we will head to the top of Tope Danda. From Tope Danda, it does not take long to reach our final destination for today, Namche Bazaar. Namche is a beautiful small village that offers all the basic facilities such as ATMs, bakery, coffee shops, clothing stores, and so on. At Saturday market you can see a turnout of both the Tibetan Yak caravans and Hindu traders selling their products from across the villages and town. Later, you can also head on to Namche Monastery and enjoy the pleasant environment while spinning prayer wheels with the view of Khongde Ri (6,187m). Mt. Everest looks gleamingly stunning as the sun comes down. You will spend your night here at Namche Bazaar. 

Day 04: Trek back to Lukla

Today, you will walk back to Lukla from  Namche Bazaar. Along our walk, you will see places with beautiful landscapes, pine trees, and flora everywhere. After a few hours of walking, you will reach your today’s destination. You will spend your night comfortably in a homestay.

Day 05: Return to Kathmandu/ Departure

Today is the last day of your adventurous trip to Namche Bazaar. You will be transferred to Kathmandu through a private tourist vehicle. After reaching Kathmandu, rest for a while or either go shopping, do as you want. Depending on your flight schedule, our team’s representative will drop you off at the airport.

Therefore, before you book your Nepal trekking or peak climbing, please read this packing list carefully and arrange it with you. The following are the list of equipments that we suggest to you for trekking in the Himalayas of Nepal.

Trekking Boots: You must pack sturdy and comfortable hiking waterproof boots that provide support and protection to your feet and ankles. Also, be sure that you tie and untie the laces with ease and check that the boot has deep-cut traction on the sole.

Backpack: Choose a backpack with a good quality having of capacity 40-60litres to carry all your gear and personal items. Duffle bag or kit bag is necessary to carry gear while trekking.

Sleeping Bags: It is best to carry your own sleeping bags. For trekking in high-altitudes in Nepal, we advise you to carry a warm and lightweight sleeping bag rated to at least -25C.

Clothing: You will need a variety of clothing depending on the season of your trekking. But for any season trekking, always carry quick-drying, moisture-wicking clothes. Also not to forget the layers are very important for adjusting to changing temperatures during trekking days. So, choose the best brands for a base layer, insulation layer, outer layer, trekking trousers, shirts, waterproof jackets, etc.

Trekking Poles: The use of poles during trekking days is very essential as they help to reduce the impact and stress on your joints and make your trekking days easier, especially on steep and rugged terrain.

First Aid Kit: Don’t forget to carry a first aid kit with essentials such as antiseptic, bandages, pain relievers, blister treatments, etc.

Water Filtration System: Rather than buying bottled water in every lodge, or tea house, we suggest you carry a water bottle with a built-in filter or water purification tablets for safe drinking water.

Footwear for Trekkers:

  • Trainer or casual shoes, for trekking and/or travelling.
  • Warm thermal socks for colder areas.
  • Gaiters, in case of rain or snow

Body:

  • Loose-fitting, everyday pants for trekking.
