As a founder and managing director, getting into mountain tourism was a natural choice, as I grew up in the lap of the mountains, Solukhumbu. Born and brought up in Solukhumbu, where the world’s highest peak, Mt. Everest is situated, I’ve grown immense love for nature and mountains

As a passionate traveller, I’ve trekked across all the regions in Nepal and have also visited the USA, Europe, and many other Asian countries. Furthermore, I attribute my success to my team for always supporting me from the very start. Also, I feel forever indebted to tourists who trusted Quest Himalayan Trek and Expedition and recommended it to their family and friends. And, I’m always ready to share my experience and give valuable tips to young guides and students dreaming about doing something in the tourism industry.

Tara karki

Legal and Marketing

Tara Karki, the legal and travel advisor of Quest Himalayan Trek and Expedition, has been involved in the tourism industry for over 25 years.

Regarding his education, Tara has completed his bachelor’s degree in Business Law and Master’s in sociology from Tribhuvan University. He has written many articles and books regarding Tourism Development in Nepal. While completing his bachelor he helped many groups as a helper which helped him gain knowledge about trekking sites better. Also, Tara has attended many national and international conferences to develop and promote Tourism in Nepal.

In recent years of his career as a tourist advisor, Tara has gathered enough experience with trekking sites and tools. His love for trekking and guiding trekkers to their destination was powerful which made him join us. Also, Tara always says traveling with clients has helped him experience the happiness and struggles of trekkers. This experience has been a huge help for him in understanding the expectations and perspectives of the trekkers, thus communicating with them easily and planning organized well-structured trekking trips. He herself manages and plans every single trip of Quest Himalayan Trek and Expedition. Furthermore, Tara has been leading a lot of social organizations like the Federation of Volunteer Nepal, the World Consumer Federation Nepal, the Rambhadevi Development Society, etc.

Dan Bahadur Basnet

Senior Trekking Guide

Our senior guide Dan Bahadur Basnet is a veteran mountain climbing leader with over 30 years of experience. Mr Basnet steeped into the tourism industry and started as an assistant guide, and helper before becoming a trekking guide. Gradually he learned the art of climbing with senior climbers. With time and training, gradually he was able to learn mounting skills. Moreover, our senior guide’s passion and love for mountaineering are evident in his long list of achievements in mountain climbing. He has been working with us since our start and has successfully summited many trekking peaks in Nepal and India. His long list of achievements includes summits of Island Peak(6,189m) over 20 times, Lobuchhe Peak(6,119m) over 10 times, and the list goes on.

He was born and brought into the lap of the Himalayas in the Solukhumbu district of Nepal. Mr. Basnet was 15 years old when she started working as a helper in a lodge in the hill stations and later became the assistant guide. He has trekked all over Nepal, as our senior trekking guide including regions like Annapurna, Everest, Mustang, Langtang, Manaslu, Upper Mustang, etc.

Duk Kumar Karki is an energetic, young, and professional trekking guide working with us since our start. He is a skilled professional and government-licensed trekking guide for 10 years with great knowledge of trekking sites. He is young, friendly, and always ready to help you with your queries, and has a never-dying passion for trekking. The only thing he always says is his happiness comes from the satisfaction of his customers. He is working as a trekking guide after graduating his High School.

Moreover, Mr. Karki is a very good singer. He will make your trip Memorable.
