The Everest Base camp trek is a dream for adventure lovers who want to see the world’s highest peak up close. Your 15 days Everest Base camp trek starts from Lukla, renowned as a gateway to Everest. The trails follow the Dudh Koshi River, passing through beautiful Buddhist monasteries, Sherpa villages, and colourful prayer flags. Then you will reach Sagarmatha National Park, a home for various flora and fauna, including rare animals like the snow leopard. The Everest Base Camp is where trekkers prepare for their summit attempt and can also enjoy the breathtaking views of Khumbu Icefall and Glacier. This trek will also take you to climb Kala Patthar, a hill from where you can see the best view of Everest and other surrounding regions.
The Everest Base Camp is also renowned for the EBC trek. Your trek will start from Lukla village, about 9,318 feet / 2,840 m heights. Over eight days, you will slowly move toward the Sagarmatha National Park as you hike throughout the day and rest during the night in local villages. On the last day (8th day), you will finally reach Mount Everest Base Camp at 17,598 feet / 5,364 meters.
Here is where all the climbers from around the world begin their ascent up the world’s highest peak; Mount Everest (29,029 feet / 8,848 meters). On the last three days of the trek, you will retrace back down to Lukla Bazar. You will complete the return journey in less than half the time.

Day 12. Trek to Namchebazar from Pangboche – 7 hrs walk

DAY 01: Kathmandu Arrival [1300 m / 4264 ft]
After you arrive at Kathmandu Airport, Quest Himalayan Trek and Expedition representatives will pick you up and transfer you to the hotel. After the check-in procedure, you can rest after a long tiring flight, stroll around, or visit our office, and it’s your choice. You will enjoy the Welcome Dinner at a famous traditional Nepalese Restaurant and the cultural program in the evening.
DAY 02: Kathmandu: Sightseeing and Trek Preparation
After enjoying your delicious breakfast (8:00 am) in the hotel, today’s visit concerns Kathmandu’s most historical and spiritual attractions. Some of your today’s visit include the World Heritage Sites: Durbar Square, the sacred Hindu temple of Pashupati Nath, the famous ‘Monkey Temple’ (Swayambhunath), and the Buddhist shrine (Buddha Nath); one of the largest stupas across the world. There is a pre-trip meeting in the evening where you can meet the trek leader and other members. Our team will explain the trek, and you can ask anything that you are curious about or look forward to in this trek.
Day 03: Flight to Lukla (2860 m). Trek to Phakding (2610 m) – 4 hrs walk (Trekking times only):
After enjoying your early meal, transfer to the airport for a flight to Lukla, the gateway to Everest. In about 45 minutes, you can view the breathtaking snow-capped mountains and land between the hills at the Tenzing-Hillary airstrip. After you arrive in Lukla, your trekking crew will be introduced, and you will start your journey toward Phakding. You will love your first day of trekking in the Everest region. Then, you and your group will stay overnight in Phakding.
Day 04: Phakding – Namche Bazaar (3,440m/11,280 ft): 5 – 6 hrs:
You will enjoy your morning meal and start your journey to Namche Bazaar crossing the Dudh Koshi river through a suspension bridge. Then slowly head towards Sagarmatha National Park located at Monjoo, proceeding towards Jorasale and continuing the walk until you arrive at the Sherpa Village of Namche Bazaar. You will also have a quick stop at Chautara and admire the snow-capped mountains that have already started to appear. Then, you and your group will stay overnight in Namche Bazaar.
Day 05: Namche Bazaar: Acclimatization day:
Today is your first acclimatization day of the Everest Base Camp trek. It is essential to have proper acclimatization to avoid possible risk of weakness, sickness, or altitude sickness. These days, it is best to involve yourself in physical activities rather than just resting. Therefore, you can go explore the surroundings of Thame or Namche Bazaar. Stay overnight in Namche Bazaar.
Day 06: Namche Bazaar to Tengboche (3,870m/12,694ft): 5 – 6 hrs:
You will start your day by having a delicious and healthy breakfast. Then continue your journey to Tengboche with incredible views of the Everest Himalayan ranges. You will slowly pass through the beautiful trekking trails, spotting flora and fauna, have lunch at Phuki Thega, and finally reach Tengboche at the end of the day. The significant visit here will be to the ancient Tengboche Buddhist monastery and admire the breathtaking views of Everest, Amadablam, and other surrounding mountains. Then, you and your group will stay overnight in Tengboche.
Day 07: Tengboche to Dingboche (4,360 m/14,300ft): 5 – 6 hrs:
It will be another beautiful day of your trek, heading towards Dingboche crossing through beautiful forests and bridges, and visiting Chortens while exploring rare Himalayan flora and fauna. As you climb higher and gain altitudes, the view of the peaks becomes clearer and more precise. Then, you and your group will stay overnight in Dingboche.
Day 08: Dingboche (4,360 m/14,300ft): Acclimatization Day:
Today is your second acclimatization day, as it is crucial in EBC to let your body adapt to the changing atmosphere. Before starting the trek towards glacier moraines and more challenging trails at high altitudes, prepare yourself for the challenges by hiking to surrounding hills and monasteries that offer great insight into local cultures and traditions. So, it’s not a rest day but an active day for hiking to nearby hills. Then, you and your group will stay overnight in Dingboche.
Day 09: Dingboche -Lobuche (4,940 m/16,207 ft): 6 – 7 hrs:
Today after having an early breakfast, you will push yourself forward through the small isolated village of Dughla. After your lunch at the trails, you and your friends will slowly climb up towards Lobuche through barren lands full of small shrubs without much vegetation. In this way, you will reach Lobuche.
Day 10: Lobuche – Gorak Shep (5,170 m/16,961ft) – Everest Base Camp (5,364m/17,594ft) – Gorak Shep: 8 – 9 hrs:
Leaving behind Lobuche, you will head towards your last overnight stay during the Everest Base Camp trek at Gorak Shep. It is situated at 5100m altitude, with a high chance of altitude sickness. However, the risk of getting altitude sickness is lower with our proper acclimatization stops and professionally designed itinerary with experience guide experts. It is the most important day of this trek as you finally enter the base camp of Everest, the highest peak in the world. After capturing the best moments in the base camp, return to Gorak Shep for a comfortable night’s stay.
Day 11: Gorak Shep – Kala Patthar (5,545m/18,192ft) – Pheriche (4,280 m/14,070 ft): 8 – 9 hrs:
Leaving behind Lobuche, you will head towards your last overnight stay during the Everest Base Camp trek at Gorak Shep. It is situated at 5100m altitude, with a high chance of altitude sickness. However, the risk of getting altitude sickness is lower with our proper acclimatization stops and professionally designed itinerary with experience guide experts. It is the most important day of this trek as you finally enter the base camp of Everest, the highest peak in the world. After capturing the best moments in the base camp, return to Gorakshep. You will stay overnight in Gorak Shep.
Day 12: Pheriche to Khumjung (3,780m / 12,401 ft) 6 – 7 hrs:
Today will be long trekking downhill through several ascents and descents. Along the trails, you will witness the locals drying potatoes, a local staple diet. This way, you will reach Khumjung village, where you can explore local Sherpa inhabitants’ fantastic cultures, lifestyles, and traditions. Then, you and your group will stay overnight in Khumjung.
Day 13: Khumjung to Phakding (2,652m/8,700ft): 4 – 5 hrs:
Today, it’s a 4-5 hour trek from Khumjung village to Phakding. Initially, we head down towards Namche Bazaar first and keep trekking down along the riverbank of Dudh Koshi River. Passing through beautiful rhododendron forests, crossing the permit points of Sagarmatha National Park, and finally reaching Phakding. Then, you and your group will stay overnight in a guesthouse in Phakding.
Day 14: Phakding to Lukla (2,860 m/9,383 ft): 3 – 4 hrs:
In the last few days, while trekking from Phakding to Lukla, you will walk for about 3-4 hours. Upon arrival at Lukla, there is a celebration for your final night around the foothills of these beautiful Himalayas. And be ready for your tomorrow’s flight to Kathmandu.
Day 15: Lukla – Kathmandu:
After getting up in the morning, enjoy your delicious breakfast a be ready for your flight to Kathmandu from Lukla. After you arrive in Kathmandu:
- Visit the streets of Kathmandu.
- Shop for souvenirs.
- Share the moment while enjoying the complimentary farewell dinner at a cultural restaurant at night.
Day 16: Departure Day:
Today will be the final day of our Everest Base Camp trek. You will see all the tasteful adventures around Everest Himalayas; recalling the memories, you will drop at Tribhuvan International Airport for international departures.

Therefore, before you book your Nepal trekking or peak climbing, please read this packing list carefully and arrange it with you. The following is the list of equipment that we suggest to you for trekking in the Himalayas of Nepal.
Trekking Boots: You must pack sturdy and comfortable hiking waterproof boots that provide support and protection to your feet and ankles. Also, be sure that you tie and untie the laces with ease and check that the boot has deep-cut traction on the sole.
Backpack: Choose a backpack with a good quality having of capacity 40-60litres to carry all your gear and personal items. Duffle bag or kit bag is necessary to carry gear while trekking.
Sleeping Bags: It is best to carry your own sleeping bags. For trekking in high-altitudes in Nepal, we advise you to carry a warm and lightweight sleeping bag rated to at least -25C.
Clothing: You will need a variety of clothing depending on the season of your trekking. But for any season trekking, always carry quick-drying, moisture-wicking clothes. Also not to forget the layers are very important for adjusting to changing temperatures during trekking days. So, choose the best brands for a base layer, insulation layer, outer layer, trekking trousers, shirts, waterproof jackets, etc.
Trekking Poles: The use of poles during trekking days is very essential as they help to reduce the impact and stress on your joints and make your trekking days easier, especially on steep and rugged terrain.
First Aid Kit: Don’t forget to carry a first aid kit with essentials such as antiseptic, bandages, pain relievers, blister treatments, etc.
Water Filtration System: Rather than buying bottled water in every lodge, or tea house, we suggest you carry a water bottle with a built-in filter or water purification tablets for safe drinking water.
