Short Kathmandu, Pokhara, Lumbini and Chitwan tour of 10 days offers you the exploration of renowned cities of Nepal, including the birthplace of Gautam Buddha. It is the perfect time to explore nature and culture in a short time. Also, by visiting the UNESCO World Heritage Sites (i.e., Kathmandu, Chitwan, and Lumbini) and Tansen's historical places, you can learn more about the history and culture of Nepal.

Your trip starts from the capital city, Kathmandu where you will explore the Pashupatinath Temple, Bouddhanath Stupa, Swyambhunath Stupa, Patan Durbar Square, and Kathmandu Durbar Square. After that, we will head to Pokhara, Lake City. In Pokhara, you will enjoy all the fun activities such as boat rides, paragliding, bungee jumping, and visiting ancient temples, caves, etc. In Tansen, we will explore the ancient palaces and learn about the Newari culture. Your other visit, i.e. Liumbini is a perfect place to learn about the history of Buddhism and how different the monasteries here are compared to other countries. Then, you will also visit the Chitwan Nationa Park, the home of over 50mammals species, over 525 birds and 55 amphibians and reptiles. The endangered fauna found in this park is Royal Bengal Tiger, Wild Elephant, One-horned rhinoceros, Python, Golden monitor lizard, Pangolin, etc.

Day 01: Kathmandu Arrival

After your arrival at Kathmandu International Airport, Quest Himalayan Trek and Expedition team’s representative will pick you up and transfer you to the hotel safely.  After check-in, you can rest in the hotel or visit the surroundings, and do as your wish. In the evening, there is a welcome dinner hosted by our team in a local Nepalese restaurant where you will enjoy the taste of Nepalese food for the first time.

Day 02: Kathmandu sightseeing tour

Today, you will visit and explore the UNESCO World Heritage sites inside the Kathmandu Valley. After enjoying your breakfast, you will be picked up by our team along with the tour guide. Your tour starts with the exploration of Durbar Square, an ancient palace built by kings. After that, we will head towards Swayambhunath Stupa, from where you can see stunning views of the city. This Stupa is a combination of Buddhism and Hinduism.

Later, we will visit Patan Durbar Square to explore the gorgeous architectural beauty of the buildings. Here you will have the opportunity to learn a lot about the history of the city. After visiting Patan Durbar Square, we will visit Boudhanath Stupa, one of the largest Buddhist monasteries. Our next visit takes us towards Pashupatinath temple, one of the most sacred sites for Hindus. After a complete exploration, you will be transferred to your hotel where you will spend your night comfortably.

Day 03: Mount Everest flight & drive to Pokhara

Early in the morning, you will fly over the mountains which takes an hour to get to the Himalayan region. This flight takes you to Mount Everest and the surrounding mountains within an hour, and you will get to view the world’s highest mountain. After a little round on the mountain area, you will be taken back to your hotel.

Enjoy your breakfast at the hotel, and pack your belongings. Hop on the private vehicle to get to Pokhara in a 6-7 hours drive. During your transfer to Pokhara, admire the beauty of the landscape, get a glimpse of rural areas of Nepal, beautiful forests, etc. Along your way to Pokhara, you will mostly follow the Trishuli River.

After arriving in Pokhara, check in to the hotel and refresh yourself. Later, you will have a short sightseeing tour of Lake Phewa and the Tibetan refugee camp. Your today’s visit also includes the Bat and Mahendra caves, Devi’s Fall, Lake Begnas, etc. Moreover, the city of Lake, Pokhara is a vibrant and lively city perfect for a walk during the evening with your partner, friends or family.

Day 04: Pokhara sightseeing and transfer to Tansen

Today, you will wake up early in the morning just like yesterday. You will visit the Bindhyabasini Mandir, considered a Shaktipith, and dedicated to the goddess Bhagwati. After that you can enjoy the boat ride on Lake Phewa and stroll around the city, exploring the city. After a complete exploration of Pokhara, hop on to the private tourist vehicle and get transferred to Tansen.

After a five hours vehicle journey along with beautiful landscapes, rivers, etc., we will finally reach our destination. After completing the check-in procedure in the hotel, you will explore the city influenced by Newari culture. By exploring the city you will get insight into the culture and traditions of the Newari community people.

Day 05: Day trip to Tansen and drive to Lumbini

You will get up early in the morning and walk to Srinagar Hill to witness the sunrise view. You will surely fall in love with Srinagar as from the top you can have majestic views of the surrounding landscapes, rivers, and jungles. Don’t forget to click the picture for the memory. After enjoying some time at the top of Srinagar, we will return to the hotel and enjoy our breakfast.

Today, you will visit the two most renowned historical sites of the city, i.e., Rani Mahal and Tansen Durbar. The Tansen Palace which was built in 1927 is now the museum that preserves the history and culture of the place. Moreover, the Rani Mahal is also renowned as the Taj Mahal of Nepal located on the bank of the Kali Gandaki River.

In addition to these historical palaces, you will also explore the architectural beauty of other buildings in the region which are all influenced by Newari culture. You will also be given some time to buy souvenirs and handicrafts made by the locals. After that, you will hop on the vehicle and get transferred to Lumbini. In about 3-4 hours of driving, you will finally reach your today’s final destination, Lumbini.

Day 06: Lumbini sightseeing

Today on the sixth day of your trip, you will explore the Lumbini. Lumbini is one of the most popular UNESCO World Heritage sites and the birthplace of Lord Buddha. You will visit Lumbini Museum and Maya Devi temple. Moreover, you will also visit different monasteries built in different styles of countries such as Korea, China, Thailand, Vietnam, etc. All the places you will visit and explore today have great cultural and historical significance. After a day excursion to Lumbini, you will return to your hotel and overnight stay.

Day 07: Tilaurakot sightseeing tour and transfer to Chitwan National Park

After enjoying your breakfast in the hotel, we will head towards Tilaurakot for sightseeing. Tilaurakot is mostly renowned because it is the homeland of Siddhartha, therefore, a holy place for all Buddhists.  From Tilaurakot, your next visit is to Chitwan. After 5 and a half hours of driving, you will finally reach Chitwan. After completing the check-in procedure, you can rest for a while. Later in the evening, there is a short journey around the beautiful village of the Tharu community. During your visit to the Tharu community, you will pass through numerous rice fields and lush green forests. While on your way back to the hotel you can enjoy sunset views.

Day 08: Chitwan National Park jungle safari ride

After having a delicious breakfast in your hotel, we will head towards Chitwan National Park. Today you will also enjoy canoeing, and riding on an elephant including the jungle safari. Your guide will explain to you every flora and fauna you see during the safari ride. Moreover, you will have an elephant ride to walk through the jungle. If you are lucky, during your elephant rides you will also get to see endangered animals such as one-horned rhinos, the Bengal tigers, Gharials, etc. After that, you will enjoy canoeing on the Rapti River. After enjoying your day in the park, you can also learn and enjoy the traditional stick dance of the Tharu community after dinner in the hotel.

Day 09: Return to Kathmandu

After enjoying your morning meal, it’s time for bird watching in the Chitwan National Park. This park is home to 840 different bird species which is more than any other protected area in Nepal. After watching the birds in the park for a while with your guide, you will head straight to Kathmandu. After a 5-6 hours road journey, you will reach your destination, Kathmandu. On our way to Kathmandu, you will pass through several dense forests, picturesque towns, eye-catching towns, and river valleys, and also get a glimpse of rural life. You will spend your night in a hotel.

Day 10: Bhaktapur sightseeing and departure

Today is the last of your short trip to Nepal. But, before boarding the plane to the homeland you will explore Bhaktapur and buy souvenirs for your friends, and family. You will visit the Bhaktapur Durbar Square, the royal palace of the former kingdom of Bhaktapur. It is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Your other visit includes Nyata-Pola temple, the Golden Gate, the 55 Window Palace, the water jets, etc. After the complete sightseeing tour of Bhaktapur and depending on your departure time, you will be transferred to the airport.
